That baseline he wrote...Wow, what a sad day indeed. That baseline he wrote for Carter on the title track of "Red Clay" is by far the greatest baseline ever conjured up. Freddie's work in the late '60s and throughout the 70s is some of the best jazz in history. One of my alltime favorites.
